“Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NLT
What a challenge…. it’s so easy for our joy to be removed, it’s hard to stay committed to prayer time, and many times we are not grateful. Totally the opposite of what the scripture says. Do we ever wonder why the Bible is our daily manuscript.. this would be why.
Daily we have to remember that we have the opportunity to make a decision to be joyful and not allow anything or anyone to remove our joy. We are reminded that if we can not be rooted in prayer we will easily be torn in many directions minus the direction and will of God. As to being grateful, the moment we walk and breath fresh air should be a sufficient reminder.
Clearly the scripture says for “You who belong to Christ Jesus” so this morning the question arises to who do we belong to? Why this question arises is because it’s easy to fall into the norm. We must understand that we can’t allow this to take place in our life’s when we belong to Christ Jesus. In the smallest things we must remind ourselves to whom we belong to. As we keep in mind our current circumstance can last only a short time determining factor how we tend the matter.
If we can tend the matter by saying I will not allow anything to remove my joy, I will continue to press in and into prayer no matter what my eyes see before me and I’m giving Him thanks and praise for I truly am grateful to be alive and well. If you stick to this you truly will see His glory manifested in the matter.
Forever we will glorify! Let our worship Rise as a sweet perfume. Let’s pour out our love as a sweet perfume. God truly has a way of doing things and what’s even greater is how we take these very things and magnify how truly amazing God is.
