Attitude of Gratitude
“See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people. Always be joyful.
Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
1 Thessalonians 5:15-16, 18 NLT
“Grateful “ is the one word that expresses it all. “Seasons change but God remains unchanged.”Prayers are elevated that every desire of God be placed in our hearts and cultivated to its fullest.
Many may not understand why we are so “Grateful” but the truth of the matter is God has been so good to me. I can’t say I deserve not one bit of how good He has been to me.
In life we will face many giants along the way, be assured that they are there just to remind you of how good God has been to you. There will be a time where you will look at glimpse of the past and say I went through that and I survived, it actually made me stronger.
Thanksgiving recap: We are so accustomed to having people around, so much noise, so much preparation, so much, so much to the point of the losing the importance of it all. For many years I had this madness around me. As my children get older I come to realize the things missed. As we mature we acknowledge what truly is important. Many of us suffer of this problem… It’s called being accustomed…..
We have a mindset well sort of like this ….”you know my parents use to do it, so I have to do it.” No you don’t!! Stop that lie. Make every moment magical and important so when the years past you can look back and see what where those things that we did together that marked our life’s forever.
My son Joseph 23 years old, my daughter Jocelyn 18 and little Janchael 12 had the opportunity of having Mommy and Daddy all to themselves yesterday. No madness just us… truly giving God thanks for giving us opportunity to “Rebuild our story one day at a time”. Wait… it’s gets better…we had one surprise guest! Kenny… he shared how he was finally adopted after living in serval foster homes. He shared how grateful for the family that adopted him and helped him be the man he is today. He was grateful because he was able to sit with us and pray. We had some good laughs and made memories.
Can you look at today as a day to give thanks? Never for a moment should we think it’s one day out of the year as we title it “Thanksgiving” it’s truly everyday.
